Plate size: 26.8x44.1 cm. Sheet size: 31.8x45 cm. In good condition. It has rust spots that can be seen in the image due to age. Map by Robert Vaugondy corrected and augmented from new discoveries by C.F. Delamarche successor to Vaugondy. Giles and Didier Robert de Vaugondy, father and son, were famous cartographers of the 18th century, descendants of the also cartographer Nicolas Sanson from whom they inherited much of their cartographic material. In 1760 Didier Robert de Vaugondy was appointed geographer to Louis XV. In 1757 they published their most famous work Universal Atlas
