Original etching from the Disasters of War of Goya. Numbered with the number 12. Edition produced by Rupez in the National Calcograf by the Public Ministry in 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. Platemark size is 17,7x21,7. Sheet size is 28x38 cms. Five series numbered from 1 to 5 were dedicated to Stalin, to Mrs. Eleanor Rooselvet, and to Aza, the Republic President, leaving two series not assigned. Fifteen series were issued numbered from 6 to 20 -in Japanese Imperial paper-. The actual print has number 11 at the back. One of the first series issued in 1937 was given as a present to the Victorian and Albert Museum, where it is exhibited, by the Spanish embassador in London. The print has a dry stamp with a CN rounded by a text: Calcograf Nacional Ministerio de Instrucci Plica. Thomas Harris states it corresponds to a very well printed edition.
