Description of Spain and Portugal (Beschryving van Spanjen en Portugal).
This book was done by Alvarez de Colmenar in 1707. The original French edition titled "Les Délices de l'Espagne et du Portugal" splitted in five books was published at the same time as this Dutch edition by Pieter Vander Aa in Leiden published in a single book. Lavishly illustrated with maps and engravings. It includes a folding general map of Spain and Portugal and 164 almost half-page engravings in-text with regional maps, plans, views, and costumes, complete with the folding coastal view of Barcelona.
This is the most important illustrative book about different travels along Spain and Portugal XVIII century.
Well preserved. There is some humidity spot in the four initial pages that can be seen in the pictures.
The cover is strong antique cartoon.
