Drawing of Farnley Hall in Farnley (North Yorkshire). In 1780 the owner was Francis Fawkes, upon his death it was inherited by his son Ramsden Fawkes. The artist and philosopher John Ruskin, who had a large collection of William Turner's paintings, was a regular visitor. This house was Turner's second home between 1808 and 1824. Ramsden Fawkes also owned a large collection of Turner's watercolours. Glued to cardboard. Measurements: 32x20.2 cms.
