Original hand-colored engraving with a general view of the city of Tortosa.
Provenance: Voyage pittoresque et historique de l'Espagne. It was a travel book by the Frenchman Alexandre de Laborde, published in four volumes between 1806 and 1820. Alexandre Laborde's 'Picturesque Journey' contributed to spreading the romantic vision of Spain abroad. The patron of the work was Godoy. It contains first-hand archaeological data and beautiful landscapes in the English style.
