Thomas Moore and family. Artist: after Hans Holbein the Younger, (born 1497/98, Augsburg, Bishopric of Augsburg [Germany]—died 1543, London, England). Provenance: Londiniana; or, Reminiscences of the British metropolis: including characteristic sketches, antiquarian, topographical, descriptive, and literary by Edward Wedlake Brayley (1773 – 23 September 1854). Production date: 1829. Size: 17x10,6 cms. Condition: good. Sir Thomas More and Family is a lost painting by Hans Holbein the Younger, painted circa 1527 and known from a number of surviving copies. The original was destroyed in 1752 in a fire at Schloss Kremsier (Kroměříž Castle), the Moravian residence of Carl von Liechtenstein, archbishop of Olmutz.
