Production date: 1745 - 1759. Provenance: The universal traveller: or, A compleat description of the several nations of the world, by Thomas Salmon. Thomas Salmon was an English historian known for his extensive reviews, reports and guides. In his Universal Traveler, an enormous collection of travel guides, Salmon provides a report on the current situation within several foreign nations of the world, designed for those visiting the country, as well as historical context for the illustrations. It includes impressive full-page engravings of worship practices, costumes, music, architecture, and even maps. Publisher: Richard Baldwin. Size: 23x37 cm. Condition: some foxing and tears along margins that do not affect the image due to age. One tears restoration with tape on upper margin and another on lower margin as can be seen in the image.
