Thomas Salmon was an English historian known for his extensive reviews, reports and guides. In his Universal Traveler, an enormous collection of travel guides, Salmon provides a report on the current situation within several foreign nations of the world, designed for those visiting the country, as well as historical context for the illustrations. It includes impressive full-page engravings of worship practices, costumes, music, architecture, and even maps.
