Original etching from the Caprices of Goya. Numbered with the number 23. Edition produced by Rupez in the National Calcograf by the Public Ministry in 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. The actual print has number 19 at the back. Thomas Harris states it corresponds to a very well printed edition.

Original etching from the Caprices of Goya. Numbered with the number 23. Edition produced by Rupez in the National Calcograf by the Public Ministry in 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. Platemark size is 21x15 cms. Sheet size is 38x28,5 cms. Five series numbered from 1 to 5 were dedicated to Stalin, to Mrs. Eleanor Rooselvet, and to Aza, the Republic President, leaving two series not assigned. Fifteen series were issued numbered from 6 to 20 -in Japanese Imperial paper-. The actual print has number 19 at the back. One of the first series issued in 1937 was given as a present to the Victorian and Albert Museum, where it is exhibited, by the Spanish embassador in London. The print has a dry stamp with a CN rounded by a text: Calcograf Nacional Ministerio de Instrucci Plica. Thomas Harris states it corresponds to a very well printed edition.
