Antique prints of Argentina

Our antique prints of Argentina include two engravings after Gálbez of the British invasions: the reconquest of Buenos Aires by Liniers in 1806 and the convent of Santo Domingo in 1807. Tierra del Fuego is represented by an eighteenth-century plate after Cipriani engraved by Morris and by a London print of 1843 showing its inhabitants; a further engraving depicts the execution of Doughty by order of Francis Drake in Patagonia.

These are early images of the Río de la Plata and the far south, of interest to collectors of Argentine history.
