Antique prints of Wales

Our antique prints of Wales concentrate on castles and cathedrals: Chepstow, Pencoed, Mathern Palace and the Wye valley in Monmouthshire, together with St David's and Bangor cathedrals. Most are steel engravings of the 1830s and 1840s by B. Winkles, H. W. Bond and William Woolnoth, several coloured by hand, alongside a chromolithograph by Kronheim and nineteenth-century wood engravings.

The pieces date from 1772 to 1917. Welsh ruins and river scenery were favourite subjects of the Picturesque movement, and these prints reflect that taste.

All pieces are period originals unless stated otherwise, with a technical description and measurements.
