Antique prints of Scotland

This section brings together over 160 antique prints of Scotland, dated between 1772 and 1951. The core is Romantic-era steel engraving: Edinburgh's New Town and Craigmillar Castle, Melrose Abbey, Culzean Castle and the Burns country around Kirkoswald, engraved by T. Barber, W. Radclyffe, W. Richardson, Henry Adlard and Edward Francis Finden after painters such as D. O. Hill.

Original drawings appear too, among them a nineteenth-century pencil study of Dunderave Castle at Inveraray. Scottish castles, lochs and abbeys were among the most sought-after subjects of the illustrated travel books of the 1830s.

All pieces are period originals unless stated otherwise, with a technical description and measurements.
