Original 1875 heliogravure by Amand-Durand giving the burin engraving Abraham and the Three Angels by Lucas van Leyden (1494-1533). Printed on laid paper with wide margins, it keeps all the fineness of the hatching of the original: the three angels standing and Abraham kneeling before them, with ruins beyond.

Between 1873 and 1878 Charles Amand-Durand published in Paris, with texts by Georges Duplessis, a celebrated series of heliographic facsimiles of the great old master engravers. They are the most prized period facsimiles of the kind and are collected today in their own right.
