Original 19th-century English watercolor with a view of the Thames in London: Waterloo Bridge spanning the river, the obelisk of Cleopatra's Needle on the embankment and, through the haze, the dome of St Paul's. In front, a horse-drawn cart on the Embankment and barges downstream.

The obelisk was raised on the Victoria Embankment in 1878, so the view is necessarily later than that date, which dates it far more closely than the general 19th century. The watercolor is signed with initials and titled on the back.
