It comes from the German edition of the "Description de l'Univers" of Alain Manesson Mallet (Paris, 1630-1706), military engineer and cartographer to Louis XIV, one of the most widely circulated works of city views of its time.

Condition: Good. Period color bright and well preserved, with a gilt fillet at the edge of the image; paper somewhat toned and with slight wear along the edges.
