The inscription adds that "el quadro original esta en el Refectorio de los PP. Agustinos Recoletos de Madrid". That painting by Mateo Cerezo is now given up as lost, so this print is one of the few records of its composition. Jose del Castillo (1737-1793) trained in Rome under Corrado Giaquinto and was later one of the principal designers of tapestry cartoons for the Royal Factory.
