Los Caprichos, eighty prints etched by Goya in 1797-1798 and published in 1799, are his great satire on the superstitions and vices of Spanish society. Of the thirteen known official editions, that of 1970, undertaken by the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, was the last.
