Hand-colored engraving with two sections on a black ground: above, "Statues antiques", with two classical sculptures silhouetted, and below, "Pierres gravées antiques", with two oval cameos of mythological figures. Drawn by Jean-Baptiste Wicar, etched by Duplessi-Bertaux and finished with the burin by Patas, as the lettering states.

It comes from "Tableaux, statues, bas-reliefs et camées de la Galerie de Florence et du Palais Pitti", the great work Wicar published in Paris between 1789 and 1807 to make the treasures of the Florentine collections known. The black ground and the hand coloring are characteristic of this series.
