Fine press portfolio "La Font del Garroferet d'Altea la Vella", with seven original drypoint etchings by Josep Díaz Azorín and unpublished texts on Altea la Vella and its surroundings by Joan M. Monjó. It is volume I of the series "Memòria Col·lectiva Alteana", produced in the first months of 1989 to mark the 750th anniversary of the birth of the Valencian people (the Generalitat Valenciana "750 aniversari 1238-1988/89" logo appears on the cover).
According to the colophon, the prints were made in drypoint on copper plates and printed on 250 g super alfa paper, registered and signed by the artist in his studio in Carrer Sant Pau, Altea. The edition consisted of 8 artist's proofs (P.A. I/VIII to VIII/VIII), 10 H.C. copies (not for sale) and 75 numbered copies, 1/75 to 75/75. This is copy 48/75: the colophon and the prints bear the number 48/75 and the artist's pencil signature, and the colophon carries the studio's blind stamp.
The prints, printed in sepia, show corners of Altea la Vella: the church with its dome, views of the village among cypresses, the houses at the foot of the sierra and an old olive trunk. The text leaves are illustrated with the artist's drawings reproduced in ink and include a quotation from Cesare Pavese in Italian and Valencian.
