La Bella Lola, Torrevieja - Hand-Coloured Etching, Signed and Numbered - 2014

“La bella Lola”: the bronze figure of a woman seated on a white seafront bench, chin resting on her hand, gazes out to sea awaiting the return of her sailor, beside the rocks of the shore. It recalls the Bella Lola monument in Torrevieja (Alicante, Spain), inspired by the famous habanera song. Contemporary fine-line etching, hand-coloured in watercolour in blues, greens and sepias, on deckle-edged printmaking paper.

Inscriptions: in pencil below the image, title “La bella Lola”, numbered “II 10/50”, signed and dated “2014”; blind stamp at the centre of the lower margin.

Condition: Very good. A few small watercolour splashes in the upper right margin. Only the stock number in pencil on the verso.
