The Spanish views of David Roberts (1796-1864) come from the journey the Scottish painter made through the Peninsula in 1832-1833 and were engraved for Jennings' Landscape Annual, with text by Thomas Roscoe. They are today among the most sought-after images of the Madrid that preceded the great remodelings.
