The fifth edition of Los Caprichos was printed at the Calcografía Nacional between 1881 and 1886, on heavy paper without watermark, the impressions bound along their upper margin and with Goya's self-portrait on the cover. These are the features Tomás Harris describes in his catalog of the artist's engraved work.
Medium: Etching and burnished aquatint on heavy unwatermarked paper.

Date: 1881-1886 (fifth edition; the series was first published in 1799).

Dimensions: Plate mark 5.9 x 8.5 in (15 x 21.5 cm); sheet 10.2 x 14.4 in (26 x 36.5 cm).
Condition: Acceptable. Foxing in the margins; one spot, in the upper right margin, just touches the edge of the plate mark. All of it visible in the photograph.
