A heliogravure by Charles Amand-Durand after Albrecht Durer's burin engraving "Coat of Arms with a Lion and a Cock", signed in the copper with the AD monogram. A cock with outspread wings crowns the helm, among acanthus mantling, above the shield with the rampant lion.

Since it answers to no known family, it is accepted that Durer engraved this copper as a display of virtuosity with the burin: the plumage, the mane and the burnished metal are told apart by the quality of the cutting alone.
