Hogarth's subscription tickets are of interest in themselves: in the first the artist expressly claims the 1735 act that gave engravers the property in their own work, and in the second he uses the anecdote of Columbus to defend the originality of his theory of beauty. The copperplates were re-engraved by Thomas Cook for the folio "Hogarth Restored".
