Open landscape of golden rolling hills under a cloudy sky, with red-roofed houses among trees, two church towers on the horizon and bluish hills beyond; a rustic log fence and scrub in the foreground. Original watercolour painted from life, in a loose, transparent manner, still attached to the board cover of the sketchbook in which it was made (dark green pebble-grain cloth with corners).

Condition: Good. Fresh colours; the sheet is still attached to the sketchbook cover, which shows wear to the spine, the upper edge and the corners.
