It belongs to the series of views of the royal residences that Pierre Aveline drew and engraved under the ten-year royal privilege he obtained in 1685 to reproduce the king's palaces. The grove disappeared in later alterations, which gives these views an added documentary value.

Condition: Laid down on another sheet. There is a restoration to the left side and the lower left corner, visible in the photograph, which slightly affects the image. Paper lightly toned.
