Berchem (1620-1683), one of the leading Dutch Italianates, left some fifty engravings and a painted body of work that shaped European landscape in the 17th century. His compositions of shepherds and animals were widely circulated by French engravers such as Landry, active in Paris in the last third of the 17th century.
