The scene shows the dead tree with human-headed birds falling into the trap while three women pluck one of them: the clearest Goyesque allegory of the lure and of prostitution. This fifth edition was printed on strong paper without a watermark, the coppers beveled and the binding sewn along the upper margin, as Tomás Harris catalogues it.
