Engraved by E. Dussy. Revised and corrected by Delamarche, his successor. Giles and Didier Robert de Vaugondy, father and son, were famous cartographers of the 18th century, descendants of the cartographer Nicolas Sanson, from whom they inherited much of their cartographic material. In 1760, Didier Robert de Vaugondy was appointed geographer to Louis XV. In 1757, they published their most famous work, 'Atlas Universal'. Print dimensions: 26.8 x 29.8 cm and sheet dimensions: 31.8 x 45 cm. Some rust stains due to the period can be seen in the photograph.
